AMG - Review Best Of Miami Vice:

AAO Music's 2004 release The Best of Miami Vice contains a mixture of three new recordings and 12 tracks originally released on One Way's 2002 double-disc set Miami Vice: The Complete Collection. That release contained a wealth of Jan Hammer reinterpretations of themes he wrote for Michael Mann's television series, and The Best of Miami Vice follows through on that notion, selecting several of the best reinterpretations and adding Hammer's new spins on "Miami Vice Theme," "Crockett's Theme," and "South Beach." These new spins provide hardcore fans with a good reason for picking up this disc, and those listeners who never got around to getting Miami Vice: The Complete Collection will find this concise, entertaining collection a good alternative since it contains much of the best from that set and is an entertaining listen in its own right.
